Vintage op!

I recently went to a Debra Dietrich workshop where I learned how to create 3 styles from 1 roller set.

Intercoiffure

This was an opportunity of a lifetime! I was selected out of my school to go to the Intercoiffure Rising Star competition in Miami. The theme I was given was "Street". Immediately I started to do some research. I looked up the street styles in different parts of the world. From Haight and Ashbury in San Francisco to the Harajuku District in Japan, I was inspired.  After all my finishing touches, here is what I came up with:

The haircut I did was inspired from Takashi from Paul Mitchell. I added my own touches with some blunt fringe and disconnection. I have learned a lot of point-cutting and refining which I was able to utilize in the two toned fringe.
Yellow is a favorite color of mine. It being extremely bold, I thought it would make a fine statement with my street style. I threw in a little graffiti in the back, with the orange, and felt complete.  

BFF Time!

    Jenney was my pleasure! We are bff's way back from High School in '98 :) She came down from Seattle and I got to work with her voluptuous hair. She wanted some contrasting slices with some mocha caramel colors.

Her hair turned out beautifully!!!!!!!!!!

Heroin Fringe :)

Taleena is a courageous girl. We had a lot of fun! I love it when I get a bit of creative reign. She wanted some bold features to her cut and color so we gave her super heroin fringe and a color block to emphasis her edge. She rocks it with style!

Lisa

This is my friend Lisa. As you can see, she has been a busy mom! No time for maintenance on her hair. Well, she finally found the time. I'm just glad that I had the opportunity to do her hair because I learned so much!
Lisa wanted to go back to bombshell blonde ;) so we lightened her hair with different levels of lightener and then toned and colored her hair. She requested a pink and purple stripe in the front for her two little girls :)
I love to see the transformation that color can do! It's amazing! I love the new look Lisa!!! I look forward to next time!

Kidz Cutz!!!

Lucky me! I have two of the cutest little kiddo's that let me practice new fun things with their hair.
This is Trinity. We usually just throw her hair into a pony tail in the morning. I decided to give her a steep A line so the back was extremely easy to manage and the sides wouldn't take long to flat iron or curl. Plus, she likes her hair to be long. She has really fine hair and this cut gives her more body and the length that she wanted.

This is Phoenix. He lets me practice my fauxhawks and steps in his hair :)

He also requested a lightning bolt :)

Natalie

My friend Natalie came in this last week for a haircut. She has extremely thick hair. I shaped the perimeter and gave her some layers.

Her ponytail is about 5x's thicker than the typical ponytail. Her hair is in perfect condition. She has virgin hair!!! Pretty amazing!!! She said it would take about two days to color her hair due to it's thickness lol, and after blowdrying and flat ironing it I believe her!
